DIGITAL AND MULTIMEDIA OFFICER

 

Description of the Department

 

Reports to: Head of Communications

Languages: Arabic and English

Starting from: October 2025

Type: Full-time (100%)

Location: Amman, Jordan-Up to 30% in the field missions

Type of Contract: one-year fixed-term contract (renewable ).

 

Objectives:

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Communications, and in close collaboration with the Coms team in Amman and Digital and AV Officers in Dubai and Beirut, the Multimedia & Digital Officer will work on the implementation of MSF’s Digital strategy in Jordan, including multimedia and A/V. This role will be responsible for the smooth running and daily management of MSF’s Jordan social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and Instagram with a possible WhatsApp channel)  in accordance with MSF’s strategic digital vision in Jordan and with the ops-coms/institutional needs in Jordan as well as other contexts in the region upon request. S/he will work with the coms team in Amman Hub to develop tailored content (AV + Multimedia) and touchpoints to support communications, digital marketing, and events for targeted audience groups The Multimedia & Digital Officer will also work on supporting MSF’s institutional communications initiatives and projects especially MSF’s international field recruitment activities for OCA in Jordan, Palestine, Morrocco, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria as well as contribute to MSF’s global awareness, acceptance and visibility.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Digital Content Management:

  • Implementation of MSF’s  Digital communication strategy for Jordan aligned with MSF’s objectives in the country and supports the enhancement of MSF’s credibility and brand in Jordan and the region. 
  • Manage the editing and publication of content on MSF Jordan social media channels, ensuring content not only reflects MSF’s social mission and values, but also  in line with our style guide, and  is optimized for the audience and distribution.
  • Reinforce support for MSF’s work in Jordan by providing information to key audiences on our digital channels.
  • Ensure high quality of content posted on Jordan SM channels, and make sure its scheduled and reviewed in collaboration with other departments and offices across the region, as required.
  • Position MSF’s leadership in emergency medical response in Jordan, the MENA region & globally. 
    • Work with the Multimedia and Digital colleagues in Dubai & Beirut or other colleagues in the MENA region to enhance MSF’s visibility across MSF Jordan’s online platforms by providing content for the various digital mediums in Jordan and in the region.
    • In collaboration with other ARCH team members, to develop digital creative products and content to further MSF’s recruitment, ops and advocacy requirements, both in-house and by managing third parties.
    • Provide ad hoc support and sometimes backup (upon request) for Field Communications social media officers/ and Field Communications Officers on digital engagement, social media management and outreach, and multimedia production.

 

Social Media Analysis and Reporting:

  • Provide regular audits of and performance review of the different MSF social media channels in Jordan and when required, other channels in the MENA region.
  • Provide regular written updates on social media activities and outputs as part of a wider communications reporting structure and share it with colleagues in the MENA.
  • Gather data to provide feedback regarding online content performance to international colleagues responsible for content production.  
  • Provide regular and on-demand monitoring of MSF mentions online in addition to specific contexts where MSF works within in the region
  • Provide digital verification of user-generated content as per request from the movement

 

Audio/Visual Content Production:

  • Production of AV content serving both operational and institutional coms priorities in the MENA.
  • Editing AV content in alignment with MSF’s AV style guide and essential graphics. 
  • As part of MSF’s international communications network, provide direct support to field teams and other offices, including quick on-spot training.
  • Travel to project sites in the MENA region and elsewhere, mainly to assist field teams with AV production and digital communications content, upon request.

 

General/Other:

  • Contribute to ensuring that the work of the Amman hubs network and Jordan ops is clearly understood within MSF.
  • Participate in and, based on rotation systems, manage the MENA digital/editorial weekly calls rotated with Beirut and Dubai, including proposing agenda items and taking minutes.
  • Undertake other activities as may be required by the Head of Communications.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • A minimum of 2years’ experience in the digital/multimedia and AV production field.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Good understanding of the digital landscape in Jordan and the region.  
  • A degree in Communications/multimedia or related fields is a preference.  
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with INGOs is an asset
  • Advanced skills of AV production and editing on various digital software is a ‘’must have’’.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital monitoring and research tools
  • Good interpersonal and intercultural skills, an excellent team player
  • Able to work autonomously and implement an action plan.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and willingness to work out-of-hours and weekends at short notice.
  • Willingness to travel abroad for work.
