ROLE DESCRIPTION

FUNCTION & POSITION

Health Assistant, Health Programme

LOCATION

Amman with travel to with frequent field visits to project locations.

REPORTING TO

Senior health officer

Position

To assist the health team in the follow up of cash for health and community health activities at office level or in the field. 

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Health Programme targets boys and girls, pregnant and lactating women and their husbands, men, and women of reproductive age within the Syrian refugee and Jordanian host population to support them with cash for health and awareness raising related to health and preventable health issues.

 

 

FUNCTIONAL LINKS

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate effectively with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department to facilitate Feedback and Complaints Mechanism cases, ensuring distribution among health officers and timely collection of feedback.
  2. Verify Medair Registration link, allocate cases to health officers based on governorate, and gather feedback for efficient case management.
  3. Assist the Information Management team in testing Medair health forms (ODK, Commcare).
  4. Perform data entry for Cash for Health activities in the health database.
  5. Edit data for all Cash for Health activities in both the health database and ONA server.
  6. Compile and analyse monthly progress figures for project activities and communicate findings to the Project Manager.
  7. Prepare the Formal letter to all stakeholders.
  8. Assist in-processing referrals by cross-checking Refugee Assistance Information System (RAIS (and establishing contact with the beneficiaries.
  9. Assist in processing referrals out from Medair to other NGOs, collecting feedback from beneficiaries for a comprehensive understanding of referral outcomes.
  10. Check and enter Medair Cash for Health assistance in the Refugee Assistance Information System, coordinating with the RAIS focal point when necessary.
  11. Provide valuable support in the field activities as needed.
  12. Collaborate with the Project Manager to facilitate the reporting process by actively participating in the preparation and organization of data for reporting Purpose.
  13. Perform data entry for Activity Information.
  14. Support and facilitate the archiving process for the health project.
  15. Provide translation services for visitors and donor visits in the field.
  16. Assist the logistics team in coordinating workshops related to health activities.
  17. Maintain close coordination with the logistics team for the health store.
  18. Coordinate and manage social events.
  19. Schedule and coordinate meetings and events, including booking meeting rooms and venues.
  20. Monitor the inventory of equipment for the health team and Community Health Volunteers (CHVs).
  21. Prepare contracts for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) with meticulous archiving.
  22. Develop and review health training materials for CHVs trainings.
  23. Archive training attendance sheets and conduct training follow-up.
  24. Prepare pre- and post-testing for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) training.
  25. Provide valuable support in the field activities as needed.
  26. Support in health awareness workshops and/or home visits Supervision for CHVs when requested by the line manager.
  27. Coordinate and train Casual labourers in Medair for Calling potential/confirmed beneficiaries to give information about upcoming visits and distributions.
  28. Conduct phone calls to beneficiaries related to community health program /cash for health.
  29. Work closely with casual labour within Medair to gather necessary documents and establish communication with beneficiaries for Cash for Health activities.
  30. Undertake any other tasks as directed by the project manager, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in responding to project needs.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:

§Vocational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in any medical / health related field

-  Excellent Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 

 

§Work Experience

- A least one year Experience of working with NGOs in the same role

- Experience working directly with beneficiaries from vulnerable communities.

- Experience in conducting phone calls to beneficiaries

- Experience working with databases

 

- Experience working with refugees or Syrian communities.

- Experience working in a cash-assistance project.

- Experience in report writing in English.

 

§Languages

- excellent level of written and spoken English.

- Fluent in English.

Up to end of November 2025 with possibility of extending depending on performance and funding.
