Location: Azraq Camp

JOB SUMMARY:

The Dentist provides comprehensive oral and dental healthcare services within the Primary Health Care (PHC) program at Azraq Refugee Camp. The role includes diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of oral diseases and dental conditions, while ensuring safe, quality, and patient-centered care in accordance with clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and organizational guidelines.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with dental and oral health conditions through clinical examination, history taking, and diagnostic investigations.
• Provide preventive, restorative, and basic emergency dental care services including fillings, extractions, scaling, minor procedures, and pain management according to clinical guidelines.
• Request, interpret, and utilize dental radiographs (X-rays) and other diagnostic tools as required.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans and provide follow-up care for dental patients.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive dental care, nutrition, and proper oral health practices.
• Provide patients with clear instructions regarding treatment plans, medications, post-procedure care, and follow-up visits.
• Identify and refer complicated dental or oral surgery cases to specialized services when required, according to referral procedures.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, including sterilization and proper handling of dental instruments and equipment.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient medical and dental records, treatment documentation, and reporting forms.
• Monitor and ensure proper use and storage of dental materials, medications, and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with dental assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare staff to ensure integrated and quality patient care.
• Participate in health promotion and community awareness activities related to oral and dental health when requested.
• Participate in trainings, supervision sessions, and continuous professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), clinical protocols, patient confidentiality, and quality standards.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor in line with operational needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry
• Two years of experience
• NGO experience is preferred
