International Medical Corps has been providing emergency medical, secondary care, as well protection and MHPSS in Jordan. IMC in Jordan one of big responsible agencies for primary and secondary care service provision in both Refugees camps and urban, and responsible for provision of reproductive health services in urban, works with the ministry of health on building the capacity and extend the services to refugees and host community. IMC’s basic package of essential health care encompasses high impact primary health care services, nutrition, MHPSS and child protection interventions. Through support of existing Ministry of Health (MoH) health facilities, training of medical staff, and operation of mobile medical units (MMU), IMC offers curative and preventive consultations, maternal and child health care, reproductive health services including skilled birth attendance, family planning (FP), emergency obstetric and neonatal care (EmONC), therapeutic and supplementary nutrition services linked to mental health and psychosocial support. IMC also focuses on building the capacity of local community structures, such as village health committees (VHCs), community health workers (CHWs). CHWs are trained and supported to conduct health education and hygiene promotion activities in their communities to encourage healthy practices and utilization of available health services. The aim of IMC’s work is to strengthen local social services and develop capacity for greater community resilience, while maintaining flexibility and the ability to respond to the continuing instability and accompanying increasing humanitarian needs in the country.

JOB SUMMARY

Escorted the pregnant women who is in need external referral to hospital outside camp as a life-saving or emergency case and providing full antenatal care with monitoring women and assisting them through the labor and birthing process during the transportation and also it's your responsibility to work in department with ER team as a nurse in case no any urgent referral need midwife escort

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1-To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

2-Support and promote the implementation of safe quality health care practices for patient as set by the State Board of Nursing and Midwifery.

3-Maintain high professional standards of nursing care and provide good role model.

4-Identify and assess patients care needs and develop appropriate programs of care in accordance with clinical protocols, nursing quid lines and procedures.

5-Actively participate in direct patient care, including administration of medicines, dressings, patient mobilization, and patient hygiene

6-examining and monitoring pregnant women

7-Escorted the pregnant women that need midwife to hospital outside the camp

8-It's your responsibility to administer first-aid treatment and life-support care to pregnant women a pre-hospital setting.

9-It is your responsibility to follow up and accompany all cases that’s need midwife escort to transferred to a hospital within the emergency department, and your responsibility to complete all necessary procedures for the patient during his emergency treatment.

10-undertaking antenatal care in hospitals, homes and GP practices

11-providing information, emotional support and reassurance to women and their partners

12-taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures

13-caring for and assisting women in labor

14-monitoring and administering medication, injections and intravenous infusions during labor

15-monitoring the fetus during labor

16-writing records

17-Strong observational skills

18-following the Patient in the labor room and post-delivery

19-It's your responsibility to work in ER department and clinics staff as a nurse while not needed for emergency transfers.

Administrative:

  • Assist doctor in filling patient’s medical records for each patient visit
  • Assist doctor on prescription of drug, filling referral form for any referral case outside of clinic
  • Assist in filling and maintaining clinic records as required on timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in integration of clinic services and promote best quality standards for clients
  • Assist with organizing patients flow in the clinic

 

Training:

  • Participate in medical and management trainings as determine by IMC 
  • Continue self-education to adhere with national/international standards and new advancements in the field of general practice and other relevant medical areas

Others:

  • Ensure integration of clinic services and promote best quality standards for clients
  • Assist with additional tasks as determined to be needed by supervisors

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree of Midwifery from a Jordanian University & MOH Licensing
  • Minimum Experience is one year of practicing the midwifery profession
  • Experience with an NGO (preferred).
