Term of Reference

General information about the Consultancy:

• Expected started and ending date: 01.10.2023 to 01.11.2023.
• Location: Amman, Zarka, Madaba, Jerash and Irbid, the filming will be conducted inside Palestinian refugee camp inside women empowerment centres and in the Camps for B-Roll. 
• Payment Terms: Following the successful fulfilment of the terms and conditions mentioned within the contractual agreement between the two parties.
• Intellectual Property Rights: ActionAid have the ownership of the content produced and this will be clearly defined on the contract between the two parties.

Youth employment and inclusion Programme (YIEP) aims to enhance the employability of young women and men (young people aged 15 – 35. Points) and engage them in entrepreneurship and support entering the labour market (wage or self). It is expected that at least 50% will be young women and 30% of jobs will be classified as Green Jobs.

Targeted job seekers and entrepreneurs will be supported with life skills training and technical skills training enabling them to be involved in relevant business ecosystems in order to establish their business and change it from the ideation phase to the existing enterprise. Technical skills of young job seekers will be built in order to ensure that they have the qualifications needed to join labour market.

Scope of the consultancy:

ActionAid Arab Region and its partner had developed a customised training package to provide youth with the relevant technical skills to enter the labour market, this skill is currently implemented in Amman and six Palestinian refugee camps in the governorates, and it range from Beauty, Tailoring, Fashion design, handicrafts (embroidery- recycling- candle making- accessories), Epoxy Resin Art and organic agriculture.

AAR looking for filmmaker to produce short film to document the training onsite and editing it in an attractive way with a lot of emphasis on utilizing the animation in the short video.

The selected candidate -both individual and production company will be in charge on film making in addition to provide high resolution photography for the technical skills training activities in Jordan.

Deliverables:  

• Production for high-definition short film capturing the technical skills training (around 5 minutes) with English subtitles.
• Production for animation video about ActionAid Arab region to be present on the event and part of presentation.
• Produce photography (media library)
• Produce profile for and profile for trainer.

Skills and competencies:

• Skills and knowledge of pre-production, production, and post-production phases in the filmmaking process.
• Be able to work within a cooperative team.
• Be able to generate, manage and develop ideas, content, and scripts.
• Aware of the digital content sensitivity.  
• Produce exercises and transfer the idea to short films format.
• Ability to work with youth, especially youth in marginalized communities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in filmmaking/ media / or another relevant field.
• Previous knowledge of visual storytelling and film making tools.
• Technological Expertise – or at the very least, a very solid working understanding of the latest film technology and software.
• Written and Visual Storytelling skills.
• Good interpersonal skills to be able to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous related work experience no less than three years, preferably in the filmmaking and campaigns field.
• Good English writing and communication skills.
• For "Companies" it must be registered with proven track record
