Position Title: Program / Project Officer
Job Summary
The Program / Project Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and coordination of humanitarian, relief, development, and community-based projects. The role ensures that project activities are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation & Coordination
- Support the planning, implementation, and coordination of project activities in accordance with approved work plans and timelines.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely achievement of project objectives and deliverables.
- Coordinate with beneficiaries, partners, donors, government entities, and other stakeholders as required.
- Conduct field visits and provide operational support to project implementation teams.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate project records, files, and documentation.
- Collect, verify, analyze, and report project data and performance indicators.
- Prepare periodic reports, updates, presentations, and other project-related documentation.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities.
Project Development & Support
- Contribute to the development of project proposals, concept notes, work plans, and budgets.
- Support needs assessments, data collection exercises, and project evaluations.
- Identify operational challenges and recommend practical solutions to improve project performance and effectiveness.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable humanitarian standards.
- Support risk management, accountability, and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure proper documentation and archiving of project information and supporting evidence.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in meetings, workshops, coordination forums, and project review sessions.
- Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in relevant meetings when assigned.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties related to project implementation and organizational objectives as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Relations, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian, relief, development, or community-based projects.
- Experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with data management systems and reporting tools is an advantage.
Languages
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
Contract & Duty Station
- Contract duration: One year (renewable subject to performance and funding availability).
- Duty Station: Amman, Jordan.
