Job Description and Requirements

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Deputy General Coordinator for Programs, the Program Officer is responsible for coordinating, following up, and monitoring the implementation of the MdM project in Jordan in close collaboration with the implementing partner. The Program Officer will act as MdM's main focal point with the implementing partner and will monitor project implementation, budget, logframe indicators, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with MdM requirements and the agreed project framework.

Hierarchical link: Deputy General Coordinator for Programs

Functional link (if any): Health advisor HQ

Other: He/she works closely with the Coordination team members in Amman.  

 

ROLES:

  • Act as MdM's main focal point with the implementing partner for the day-to-day coordination.
  • Follow up with the implementing partner on the planned activities and ensure progress according to the agreed workplan and timeline.
  • Follow up on project expenditure and budget implementation in coordination with the implementing partner and flag any significant variances or issues.
  • Monitor progress against the project logframe and indicators and follow up with the implementing partner on target achievement.
  • Ensure proper management of resources required for activities (logistics, finance, HR)
  • Monitor the quality of project implementation and compliance with agreed protocols, procedures and MdM requirements.
  • Monitoring the health situation in the intervention area and assessing needs.
  • Representing MdM with local authorities.
  • Supervising material, equipment and consumables needed for activities (including allocations to partners)
  • Following up on project data collection; compiling and analyzing data with the implementing partner.
  • Drafting activity reports as per the need
  • Contributing to evaluation missions, impact studies, capitalization studies, etc.
  • Advising, arbitrating, and supporting measures to be taken in the event of difficulties, malfunctions and/or incidents
  • Leading the elaboration, compilation, implementation and review of an effective MEAL report.
  • Regularly update the Deputy General Coordinator for Programs on project progress, challenges, risks, budget implementation and any issues requiring management attention or decision.

The list of missions is not exhaustive and may be changed to reflect developments and specific needs.

Education and Experience

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a managerial, medical, or paramedical field.  

Experience: Previous experience or participation in health awareness projects/training sessions.

Previous experience in working with NGOs and INGOs

Previous experience in project coordination, monitoring, reporting, and/or partner follow-up is an asset.

Required skills:

Knowledge and understanding of national protocols and standards in the relevant field of activity (Community Awareness and Health-Seeking Behavior).  

IT: Pack Office and internet use

Languages:

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
