Job Purpose
The Project Assistant will provide direct support to the implementation of MAG’s Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM) project activities, including training project delivery. The role is task-oriented and will involve assisting senior staff in administrative, logistical, and field-related duties to ensure the smooth execution of training and operational activities.
The position requires a reliable and flexible individual capable of carrying out assigned tasks efficiently across different WAM functions.
Principal Responsibilities
Training Support
- Assist in preparing training venues by arranging materials, equipment, and other logistical requirements.
- Receive training materials from the logistics team and ensure they are properly organised and available for training sessions.
- Support trainers and Technical Field Managers during the delivery of training activities.
- Assist with participant registration, maintain attendance records, and ensure proper documentation during training.
- Provide general administrative and logistical support throughout training activities.
- Support WAM staff during field activities, including site visits and technical tasks as required.
- Assist in preparing, organising, and handling materials and equipment used in WAM activities.
- Support the tracking, storage, and management of consumables and operational items, and report any shortages to the line manager.
- Perform data entry and maintain basic records related to project activities.
- Carry out administrative duties such as filing, document preparation, record maintenance, staff daily attendance tracking, and monthly timesheet support.
- Maintain organised physical and electronic filing systems.
- Provide Arabic–English translation support when required.
- Assist with routine office tasks to ensure the smooth implementation of WAM activities.
- Drive the project vehicle (van) when required and transport trainees to and from training venues.
Requirements
- Must have a good understanding of filing systems and data entry.
- Must have the ability to read and write in Arabic and in English language.
- Must be computer literate with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Preferably have a good understanding of relevant MAG operational reporting formats.
- Driving License: Valid driving license to drive a van
- Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in administrative support, training logistics, field activities, or similar roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public Administration, international relations, political science, management, or communications is required or equivalent study and experience.
GENERAL
All MAG staff are expected to undertake the following general duties:

- Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
