Position: Social Worker

Living in Amman

Contract: one year with possibility of extension

 

Job Summary:

The Social Worker (medical services support) will play a vital role in supporting the mission of PCRF  by providing comprehensive social services to children and families in need through our various  Humanitarian and Health Programs and Projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in social medical work and support, a deep understanding of the challenges children face in conflict-affected areas, children's health and well-being, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of ill and vulnerable populations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management & Community Support

  • Conduct socio-economic assessments of children and families to identify needs for potential medical cases.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans addressing medical and practical needs.

  • Conduct daily field visits to assigned communities, ensuring cases are identified and supported by PCRF procedures

  • Advocate for children's rights within healthcare systems and community organizations.

  •  Collaborate with local organizations to enhance service delivery and resource access.

Medical & Surgical Sponsorship

 

  • Identify and assess children needing urgent medical interventions, including surgeries, therapies, or medical devices.

  • Collect and verify medical records, socio-economic factors, and sponsorship eligibility.

  • Ensure timely delivery of medical services while educating families on proper care. Track case progress from approval to post-service recovery, conducting follow-ups as needed.

Program Support & Coordination

  • Assist in individual and community-based distributions supporting humanitarian and health programs.
  • Support visiting medical missions as needed.
  • Refer families to appropriate community resources and rehabilitation assistance related to physiotherapy and speech therapy.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate case records and reports following organizational policies.
  • Ensure all procedures comply with PCRF's privacy and ethical standards. 

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
  • 3 to 5 years of field experience in a national or international NGO providing health or medical support.
  • Proven experience in medical services, preferably with sick children and families in conflict or crises.
  • Strong understanding of child protection laws and ethical guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Arabic and English) is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases effectively. Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children.
