Job Title: Software Deployment Assistant FSR# 707

Location: Amman 

Job Summary

The Software Deployment Assistant plays a key role in supporting the deployment and implementation of software solutions, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime. This role involves assisting with software installations, updates, and configurations across various platforms, as well as troubleshooting technical issues. The Assistant collaborates with the deployment team, conducts pre-deployment checks, and provides on-site or remote support during software rollouts. Additionally, they work closely with stakeholders to develop deployment documentation and ensure end-users receive adequate training and support.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of softwaredeployment processes, excellent organizational skills, and keen attention to detail. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is essential for collaborating with internal teams and providing end-user support. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial to managing tasks in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Deployment and Implementation Support (50%)
    • Transition Planning Support: Assist in transition planning under the direction of the Head of Department (HoD) and IT team, helping with testing, installation, and training to ensure smooth software transitions while maintaining data integrity.
    • Global Rollout Assistance: Support the implementation of software across International Medical Corps’ global missions, coordinating with external partners as needed.
    • Progress Monitoring and User Support: Track the status of software implementations, acting as the primary contact for user inquiries and concerns.
    • Compliance Support: Work with the HoD and medical teams to ensure adherence to privacy, security, and confidentiality standards, in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.
    • Implementation Planning Assistance: Support the development of rollout plans in collaboration with field teams and the medical department to facilitate smooth software deployment.
    • User Training Resources: Contribute to creating user guides and training materials to promote efficient adoption and proficiency with health management software.
  • Software Support (50%)
    • User Training and Support: Assist healthcare professionals by troubleshooting technical issues, providing ongoing support, and conducting training sessions to ensure effective system usage.
    • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Help monitor system performance, perform routine updates and patches, and assist with configuration changes to maintain system security and efficiency.
    • Issue Resolution and Documentation: Address system issues, escalate complex problems as needed, and document solutions to maintain a comprehensive record for future reference.
    • System Documentation and Reporting: Assist with maintaining up-to-date system documentation, including configurations and procedures, and support the generation of performance reports for management.
    • Collaborative Coordination: Collaborate with IT teams, healthcare staff, and external vendors to support system updates and improvements.
    • Security and Compliance Support: Assist in implementing security protocols and ensuring compliance with regulations regarding patient data privacy and system security.
    • User Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from users on system performance and work with the technical team to implement improvements.
    • Emergency and Disaster Preparedness: Contribute to the development and testing of disaster recovery plans to ensure system resilience during emergencies.
    • Staying Current with Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in health information technology to support continuous system improvements.
    • Other Duties
       Perform additional tasks as assigned by direct supervisors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, management information systems (MIS), computer science (CS), Pharmacy, or a related health or IT field.
  • At least 3 months of experience or internship in NGO or software rollout, or IT operations.
  • Experience in Health IT is preferable.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to provide on-site or remote support during rollout phases.
  • Very good command of English language
