Position Title: Operations Officer
Job Summary
The Operations Officer is responsible for supporting and coordinating the organization’s operational activities to ensure the efficient delivery of humanitarian, relief, and development interventions. The role focuses on operational planning, interdepartmental coordination, emergency response readiness, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring smooth implementation of organizational operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management & Coordination
- Coordinate daily operational activities and ensure the effective implementation of organizational plans and priorities.
- Facilitate coordination between departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution of operational activities.
- Monitor operational performance and identify challenges, bottlenecks, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Follow up on operational decisions and ensure timely implementation of agreed actions.
- Support the coordination of humanitarian response, recovery, and development operations as required.
Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Support organizational preparedness and contingency planning efforts for emergency situations.
- Coordinate operational readiness activities and response mechanisms during emergencies and humanitarian crises.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination among relevant departments during emergency response operations.
- Monitor developments and emerging needs that may affect operational planning and response activities.
Operational Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain operational records, reports, and documentation related to organizational activities.
- Prepare operational reports, situation updates, briefings, and management summaries.
- Monitor implementation progress and provide regular updates to management on operational performance.
- Contribute to lessons learned exercises and operational reviews.
Stakeholder Coordination & Representation
- Coordinate with government entities, humanitarian partners, donors, UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders on operational matters.
- Participate in coordination meetings, workshops, operational forums, and external engagements.
- Represent the organization in operational and coordination meetings as assigned.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Team Support & Capacity Building
- Provide guidance and operational support to staff involved in organizational operations.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and promote adherence to organizational procedures and operational standards.
- Coordinate operational training and capacity-building activities when required.
Other Duties
- Undertake field visits and duty travel as required to support operational activities, coordination efforts, assessments, and monitoring missions.
- Perform any other duties related to organizational operations as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in operations, humanitarian response, emergency management, logistics coordination, or organizational administration.
- Experience coordinating with government entities, donors, humanitarian organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in operational planning, coordination, and problem-solving within dynamic working environments.
- Previous experience in humanitarian or relief operations is an advantage.

Contract & Duty Station
- Contract duration: One year (renewable subject to performance and funding availability).
- Duty Station: Amman, Jordan.
