Job Title: Pediatric Nurse FSR # 805

Location: Azraq Camp

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide age-appropriate, safe, and high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients. This role is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and support of children and their families, ensuring clinical excellence and continuity of care during the maternity leave period of permanent staff.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pediatric Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive health assessments tailored to the child's developmental stage, monitor pediatric vital signs, and execute nursing interventions in accordance with pediatric clinical protocols.
  • Family-Centered Care: Provide compassionate support and education to parents/guardians, ensuring they are informed partners in the child’s care plan, treatment procedures, and health education.
  • Emergency Response: Identify and respond promptly to high-risk pediatric scenarios (e.g., respiratory distress, dehydration, pediatric shock) and initiate age-appropriate emergency care and resuscitation as needed.
  • Medication Management: Calculate and administer pediatric-specific dosages accurately based on the child's weight and age; maintain strict drug stock control and safety protocols.
  • Professional Standards: Maintain high professional standards of nursing care and serve as a reliable role model for the team.
  • Care Planning: Identify patient care needs and develop appropriate care plans in line with clinical protocols and pediatric nursing guidelines.
  • Documentation & Handover: Maintain accurate, confidential patient records (including growth charts and developmental milestones) and ensure seamless continuity of care through detailed written and verbal handovers between shifts.
  • Communication: Cooperate effectively with the multidisciplinary team (doctors, specialists, and support staff) to ensure coordinated pediatric care.
  • Infection Control: Ensure high standards of hygiene and infection prevention within the pediatric ward/clinic.
  • Resource Management: Manage pediatric medical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely reporting of non-functional equipment for repair.
  • Triage & Workflow: Actively participate in the pediatric triage system to prioritize patient flow based on clinical urgency and suggest improvements to the system where necessary.
  • Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to the confidentiality clause regarding all personal and medical information obtained during the patient's stay.
  • Professional Development: Participate in service training programs and identify training needs for less experienced staff to ensure consistent care standards.
  • Flexibility: Provide support to other departments if clinical work needs require it during this coverage period.
  • General Duties: Perform other duties as requested by line managers or the hospital manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a pediatric nurse.
  • Holding license to practice in nursing in Jordan.
