JOB SUMMARY
The International Medical Corps (IMC) is a global humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through healthcare, training, and relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, and nonsectarian organization. The Psychologist works as part of a multidisciplinary Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team and delivers services using a biopsychosocial, community-based, and client-centered approach. The Psychologist is responsible for providing lay counseling, mental health case management, and other psychosocial support services to individuals experiencing mental health and psychosocial concerns.
The Psychologist conducts comprehensive assessments, develops individualized care plans, provides structured psychosocial interventions and evidence-informed lay counseling, monitors clients' progress, and facilitates referrals to health, protection and social services when needed. Working closely with psychiatrists, case managers, occupational therapists, and other service providers, the Psychologist ensures coordinated, holistic, and culturally appropriate care that promotes recovery, resilience, and psychosocial well-being.
The Psychologist also contributes to case conferences, multidisciplinary care planning, community outreach, psychoeducation, documentation, and follow-up, while adhering to International Medical Corps' technical guidelines, ethical standards, safeguarding policies, and confidentiality principles. The position aims to improve clients' functioning, strengthen coping mechanisms, and enhance access to comprehensive MHPSS services through integrated case management and psychosocial support.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSAIBILITIES
•Provide mental health case management services using a client-centered, biopsychosocial, multidisciplinary, and community-based approach in accordance with International Medical Corps guidelines and standard operating procedures.
•Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify clients' strengths, needs, vulnerabilities, functioning, and risks, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients and, when appropriate, their caregivers.
• Conduct home visits for newly identified clients and follow-up visits as required to assess needs, monitor progress, and support implementation of care plans.
• Provide lay counselling and psychosocial support sessions using evidence-informed, non-specialized interventions to help clients strengthen coping skills, improve daily functioning, and address psychosocial concerns.
•Provide psychoeducation to clients and caregivers on mental health, stress management, coping strategies, self-care, and available support services.
•Develop, implement, regularly review, and update individualized care plans with clear goals, timelines, and follow-up actions based on clients' needs and priorities.
•Maintain regular, planned, and documented contact with assigned clients according to the agreed care plan, risk level, and program standards, ensuring timely documentation in approved IMC case management tools.
•Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for clients at risk, in collaboration with clients, caregivers, supervisors, and relevant service providers, following IMC protocols.
•Coordinate multidisciplinary case management services with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, primary healthcare providers, child protection staff, and other relevant internal and external service providers.
•Facilitate referrals to specialized health, protection, legal, education, livelihood, and social services based on identified needs, and ensure timely follow-up of all referrals.
•Participate actively in multidisciplinary case conferences, case reviews, supervision sessions, and technical meetings, presenting case updates and contributing to collaborative care planning.
•Advocate Represent for clients' rights, dignity, participation, and access to appropriate services while ensuring informed consent, confidentiality, and adherence to safeguarding principles.
•Conduct outreach activities and community awareness sessions to promote mental health, psychosocial well-being, available MHPSS services, and stigma reduction using approved IMC materials.
•Support the establishment and strengthening of community-based support networks and collaborate with community leaders, local authorities, and partner organizations to improve access to services.
•Monitor client progress throughout the case management process and support discharge planning when case management objectives have been achieved or when referral to other services is appropriate.
•Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of assessments, care plans, counselling sessions, referrals, follow-up activities, and case closure according to IMC standards.
•Maintain updated knowledge of evidence-informed lay counselling approaches, psychological first aid, mental health case management, safeguarding, and community-based MHPSS interventions through continuous professional development.
•Assist in updating service mapping, referral pathways, case management tools, and resource directories to facilitate coordinated service delivery.
•Contribute to program monitoring by collecting required data, preparing weekly and monthly reports, and supporting donor and internal reporting requirements.
•Work closely with supervisors and the MHPSS team to identify implementation challenges, service gaps, and opportunities to improve service quality.
•Adhere to International Medical Corps policies, including safeguarding, protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), confidentiality, ethical standards, and code of conduct.
•Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the purpose and level of the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, Psychology, Psychological Counseling, &and Psychological and Educational Counseling.
•At least three (3) years of experience working with NGOs.
•At least one (1) year of experience in a similar role.
